Two weeks ago the Finishing Trades Institute of Southern New England Inc/District Council 11 had the pleasure of training over 60 workers simultaneously in our new training headquarters!
We had the pleasure of hosting the SSPC C-5 certification, all of our 2nd year apprentices including Commercial Painting, Drywall Finishing, and Glazing. In addition our 3rd year Industrial apprentices were training and preparing for their CAS certification and to top it all off we were training our Youth Build New Britain program! We are pleased to provide quality training for quality workers in a space where we are able to watch our members grow and expand within their career and brotherhood!

David ViVenzio partner at ViVenzio Insurance Inc., was proud to announce their Community Superstar Client of the Month to the IUPAT District Council 11 and the Finishing Trades Institute of Southern New England Inc. on August 11, 2017. ViVenzio has been providing Business Insurance, Liability, Business Auto Insurance, and Workers' Compensation Insurance to IUPAT since 1997. "IUPAT believes in giving back to the local community and it's one of the main reasons we chose them as our Community Superstar Client" says ViVenzio. "Recent projects include Heart 911 where they renovated a Veteran's home in Windsor Locks, CT, The Bridgeport PAL where they performed the exterior painting of the local Gymnasium, backpack donations for both Bridgeport and New London schools for disadvantaged students, Re-painting the historical New London Lighthouse, known as the Harbor Lighthouse, interior and exterior renovations to the Billy Taylor House Community Center in Warwick, RI, and replacement glass installation in the Veteran's Home in Bristol, RI". On behalf of IUPAT, Vivenzio insurance will make a donation to Camp Hi Hote in Hebron, CT. The camp brings underprivileged kids from the Hartford community to summer camp at no cost. IUPAT has volunteered numerous hours doing odd jobs and repairs on the Camp's properties, and it holds a special place in our hearts. As a family owned business ViVenzio knows the importance of community. They created this award to not only recognize some of the amazing people they work with on a day to day basis, but to also showcase their community and all it has to offer. IUPAT DC 11/FTISNE are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community and for recognition of this award!
